Snow Cap

14 February 05

I went looking around at hats for this little project. Bailey, Dobbs (very pretty, may get one of those), and Stetson; all very nice brands. I balanced the merits of one from the other, and I wondered why folks, at least the men, don`t wear hats much for dress anymore; like books` covers that tatter and wear out in time, most just settle for the ever present ball cap. While I was doing this I happened to look out my window at a snow covered peak in the distance.
I never really thought of it before, but mountains wear hats that we could not possibly compete with, when one considers one`s self in the window`s reflection. Their winter hats are white, their summer hats are a collage of greens and browns, a hat for every season, and all of them a bit different. Makes you wonder who is actually the boss on this planet.

  1. I used to wear an Auzzie outback sort of thing but for the past while, when no riding my bike and wearing a helmet, I sport a period {1940’s} Pork Pie hat. Made in LA and bought on ebay from an estate sale in, of all places for a Pork Pie, Texas! ::thrive, O

  2. Hmm? Went out to Millers Hats online, to see if could figure out what a Pork Pie hat was; seems I’ve had one for years and didn’t know it. It’s my fishing hat. Given that I don’t catch fish no matter how much fishing I do, it has stayed pretty nice.
