I work and live in Yellowstone National Park. Any history you read of the park will inevitably involve stories labeled as tall tales; some were tall tales and some were not, but tall tale telling, from stories about the behavior of tourists here to super volcanoes, just became part of what its all about – my point? a blogging project relating stories heard, stories created, and a mixture thereof intended to entertain.

There was a story I heard somewhere about an indian story teller who was asked at the end of his tale if he really believed that the story he had just told was the truth and had actually happened. His answer went something like this:

“I don’t know if it actually happened, but anyone can see that its the truth!”

Interesting point.

So I start the “Tales – Tall and Short” project – enjoy.
