An Exercise

I have always been fascinated by perspectives, what follows is an exercise in creating differences in the sense of distance of the observer.

Distant

His hair was silver, his stature slight, his voice quiet and self assured. He moved about the room, and the people in it, as though navigation itself was his mission there and all else secondary. His distant manner was not unfriendly, quite on the contrary, it just seemed like he never stopped long enough for the seeds of conversation to take root before smiling and moving on to the next, more attractive, moment.

Immediate

“Jerry!” he said, “ show me what you are talking about here. We have researched this from every angle I can think of, and I still don`t understand your problem with it.” The tech looked tired as Jerry approached.
“Ok! it goes like this,” Jerry`s hands shook ever so slightly as he rolled out the program list and used pencils to hold down the tattered corners.

These are intended to be chapter openings that set tone and perspective.
